3 grand fine for not displaying GST certificate

The auto business Mike’s Spare Parts must heed that lesson today after being taken to court by the Government unit.

Appearing on behalf of business owner Luis Urbina, who is physically incapacitated from an accident several months ago, was his business manager, 45 year old Robert Sinclair to enter a plea of guilty on his behalf.

Sinclair accepted fault, explaining to Magistrate Deborah Rogers that the certificate is up at their Cemetery Road office – albeit covered by another certificate.

Urbina has until October 31, 2016 to pay his fine; in default, 6 months’ imprisonment.
