City police seize weed, gun and ammo

By BBN Staff: Searches conducted in several areas of Belize City yesterday, resulted in the seizure of 424 grams of cannabis, two guns and a total of 92 rounds of live ammunition.

A team of officers from 5:30 a.m to 4:55 p.m., searched the South Side where a 9-millimeter pistol and 41 live rounds of ammunition were found at an open lot on Vernon Street. A .38 special pistol, along with 51 rounds of ammunition was also found.

An abandoned structure in Pink’s Alley was also searched, where 308 grams of cannabis was found and another 118 grams was found in an open lot on Lovely Lane.

All items were labelled and deposited as ‘found property’ since no one was in any of the immediate areas at the times of the searches.
