Entertainer leads plastics clean-up campaign in Caye Caulker

Aaron Humes: Next Saturday, an environmental activist group on Caye Caulker headed by a popular entertainer is marking its first anniversary. 

The Anti-Pollution Plastic and the Sea initiative was formed in response to a chronic problem on La Isla Cariñosa, where according to founder Allison “Dan Man” Hemsley, plastics discarded carelessly by residents finds its way into the sea where it harms marine wildlife.

Dan Man believes Belizeans should lessen their dependence on plastics and dispose of them more properly.

The event takes place next Saturday afternoon, June 25 at the Barrier Reef Sports Bar in Caye Caulker.
