Flash flooding in the North

BBN Staff: The continuous rains over the past 48 hours have caused significant damages to families in different areas of Corozal. 

In an over the phone interview with Corozal NEMO Coordinator, Willard Levy, Breaking Belize News was made to understand that at least 20 families have been affected by flash flooding.

The villages most affected are: Libertad, San Narciso, San Roman and Santa Clara. Libertad has been the most affected.

According to Levy, the families that were affected have been moved to their relatives while NEMO conducts an assessment of the damages. Levy added that food packs and cleaning supplies have been given to the affected victims.

We will keep monitoring.
