CODICADER Games 2016 open on July 7th

By BBN Staff: The CODICADER (The Central American Council of Sports & Recreation) Games 2016 will be hosted by Belize and will open officially on Thursday July 7th at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City.

Young athletes between the ages of 6 to 12 years from seven Central American countries will be competing in sporting disciplines including football, basketball, volleyball and table tennis.

Opening ceremonies are being organized by the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH). Teams from other countries have been arriving in the country since Monday this week and continue to file in.

The games are slated to take place in Belize following the opening up to July 12th in Orange Walk, Belize City, San Ignacio and Belmopan.

CODICADER falls under the Central American Integration System (SICA) and aims to fortify the integration, solidarity and peace among member countries. The member states are Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama and Belize
