Murder and Shooting in Belize City

By Aaron Humes: Belize City was rocked by two shooting incidents within hours of each other this afternoon.

We start on Castle Street where a man was reportedly shot dead as he slept in his home.

That incident took place around 2:30 this afternoon.

We are told from street sources that this is reported retaliation for the murder of 31 year old Giovani Gentle on Regent Street West over the weekend, but Eastern Division (North) police have said nothing as of press time.

Meanwhile, there was a shooting incident on Cemetery Road and Dolphin Street about an hour and a half later.

Details in that case are similarly sketchy but we understand that one person is dead.

We hope to have more details in tomorrow’s newscast.
