Three shootings, three dead on Wednesday in the city

By BBN Staff: The Belize City Streets were stained in red on Wednesday afternoon and night as three separate shootings claimed three lives.

The first is reported to have occurred at about 3:00 p.m. when Tevin Palmer, 20, was reportedly shot inside his house on Castle Street by one of a group of persons who was with him at the time. Palmer was shot to the head and was pronounced dead upon arriving at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KNMH).

Approximately one hour later, police responded to a second shooting incident. Authorities found 19-year-old Devin Adolphus Parham on Cemetery Road suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Reports indicate that Parham was walking along with another male individual on Cemetery Road heading towards Currasow Street when someone fired shots at them from behind. Parham was fatally injured and his companion escaped unhurt. Police have detained one person and recovered a black Glock 9-millimeter pistol.

Later on at about 7:35 p.m. shots rang out again in the old capital and Michael Lopez Jr., 22, was hit. Lopez Jr. was walking on Jones Street towards Lawrence Avenue when two male individuals on a motorcycle rode past him firing several shots in his direction. Lopez Jr. was rushed to the KHMH where he succumbed at about 9:40 p.m. while undergoing treatment. Police have detained two men in contection with this incident.

Authorities continue to investigate all three homicides.
