By Aaron Humes: The first hearing of the connected cases of the Maya community of Santa Cruz versus Rupert Myles for trespass at the Uxbenka Maya site and Jalacte village versus the Government of Belize was heard by Supreme Court Justice Michelle Arana.
As the road toward trial begins, there’s not much to report, as told to us by attorney Monica Magnusson: today’s hearing was for case management.
The case comes back to court on September 13th.
