San Ignacio man stabbed to death

By BBN Staff: Edilberto Morales, 33, was stabbed to death last night in San Ignacio during an altercation.

Morales was stabbed to the chest, rib area and left shoulder. The incident happened in the Santiago Juan Layout area of San Ignacio town.

Morales, a resident of the Kontiki extension area of San Ignacio town also sustained a large cut wound to the center of his head. Police say that Morales and a friend were walking on Floyd Moro Street in the Santiago Juan Layout area sometime before 7:00 on Monday night when he got into an argument with another man from the same area.

During the confrontation, Morales was fatally wounded and his, friend who tried to intervene on his behalf, was injured to the head and forehead. San Ignacio police have since detained three persons and are looking for a fourth person whom authorities believe is the main suspect, as their investigation of the murder continues.
