By BBN Staff: The Supplies Control Unit (SCU) warns grocery shop owners that as the public prepares for the oncoming storm, they should not increase the price of goods.
In a release by the SCU under the Belize Bureau of Standards, selling priced controlled goods “above the maximum permissible price” is an offense under the Supplies Control Price Regulations.
The SCU therefore advices all consumers to be on the lookout and to report anyone who has raised the prices of groceries, particularly during this week as people prepare for the oncoming storm.
The Bureau of Standards number is 822-0446 and the hotline is 0-800-2-TELL-US (0-800-283-5587).
