Man grazed in shooting incident

By BBN Staff: A man identified as Eric Martinez, 24, was injured in a shooting incident in Orange Walk but is not collaborating with police.

Orange Walk Police are still investigating the incident however. The individual was apparently grazed by a bullet to his left arm after shots rang out sometime before 7:00 on Sunday night on the Philip Goldson Highway near the Lands Department.

Martinez was riding a motorcycle and was reportedly accompanied by another male at the time of the incident.

He was admitted for treatment at the Northern Regional Hospital but he discharged himself soon after.

Police say that so far he has not made a formal report about the incident but they are investigating the shooting.
