Minor raped in Cayo; police looking for suspect

By BBN Staff: Police officers in San Ignacio Town are looking for a man who raped a 17-year-old minor from Santa Familia village in the Cayo District.

According to police, the Belizean minor accompanied by her mother, both of Santa Familia Village, Cayo District reported to them that on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 about 2:00 p.m.,  a tall browned skin man with bald head who she met in the area of Dibary Store on Burns Avenue, San Ignacio offered her a ride on his blue motor cycle to her sister’s residence in the vicinity of Rolson’s Cocina and Cantina Restaurant as he was headed in the same direction.

The minor further stated to police that the man passed the entrance to her stop and took her to an area she knows as Mosquito Ville where he stopped in front of a green and red cement house and took her inside and raped her.

A medical examination has been conducted on the 17-year-old and San Ignacio authorities are now looking for the male person.
