3 detained in connection to shooting of PM Barrow’s niece

By BBN Staff: Yesterday around 1:30 p.m., police visited the Belize Medical Associates where they saw Candace Anderson, 31, suffering from gunshot wounds to the left leg and abdomen.

According to police reports, Candace was inside a yard on 7th Street, Belize City socializing with several persons when two male persons arrived on a motorcycle. One of the persons was armed, got off the motorcycle then entered the yard and fired several shots in their direction causing the injuries on Anderson.

Police have since detained three persons in connection with the shooting.

Candace Anderson remains in a stable condition and is the niece of Prime Minister Dean Barrow.

Police investigation continues.
