By BBN Staff:  Yesterday afternoon the Belize National Teachers Union (BNTU) met with Prime Minister Dean Barrow at the Biltmore Hotel in Belize City to discuss their 8 demands. After 5 hours in session, the members of the BNTU came out chanting ‘solidarity forever’ and ‘we shall not be moved’.

President of the BNTU, Luke Palacio told the media that he is going back to the members to discuss the responses given to them by the Prime Minister.

Palacio stated that he could not release those responses to the media yet or if there will be any follow up to their initial plan of continuous industrial action since they had written to the Prime Minister.

He explained that all their demands were addressed with responses from the Prime Minister but did not state if they are satisfied by the responses.
