Police issues statement on the murder of Rudolph Selgado

By BBN Staff: Police have issued an official statement on the murder of Rudolph Selgado, whose body was found in an advanced state of decomposition in the vicinity of the Global Outreach Votech on the Valley of Peace Road, Belmopan.

According to police reports, on Sunday, September 25, at about 12:15 a.m. officers visited the Valley of Peace Road, where in the vicinity of the Global Outreach Votech on the side of the road, the partially nude body of Selgado, 33, of Roaring Creek Village, Cayo District was seen in an advanced state of decomposition.

The body had a large cut wound to the neck, chest and to the back of the head.

Investigation reveals that on the September, 24, at about 11:20 p.m., a concerned citizen was passing the area when he smelled the strong stench and called the police to investigate. Police officers visited the area, where the decomposed body was found.

Selgado was last seen on the September, 21, at about 11:00 p.m. and reported missing by his common- law wife on September, 22.
