By BBN Staff:The Belize Progressive Party issued a release yesterday expressing their ‘unequivocal’ support for the BNTU’s industrial action.

The release states that the BPP’s solidarity with the teachers is grounded on their core principles of fostering and adhering to championing good governance practices.

“Given the reality that corruption in Belize is more the rule than the exception, the BPP is heartened to know the BNTU shall demonstrate its resolve toward standing for what is right,” the release states.

The BPP makes a call to all unions, civil society organizations, and tertiary level students, and faculty, to play an active role in this action, by supporting the BNTU.

The party reiterated that it is the responsibility of the citizenry to take whatever steps are required, in order to make elected representatives know when their actions are not in the best interest of the nation.
