By BBN Staff:The National Evangelical Association of Belize (NEAB) went to the Supreme Court about three weeks ago to file its appeal application against Caleb Orozco’s victory in the Section 53 case.

Yesterday, their application failed and this means that they cannot be joined in the case which will take place at the Court of Appeal.

That application was heard before the Chief Justice, and Anthony Sylvestre representing (NEAB) yesterday when they made the submission before the court.

The Chief Justice did not entertain the application because NEAB was not a party to the original claim. Sylvestre, who was holding brief for Dickie Bradley, asked for time to consult with Bradley, but the Chief Justice dismissed it and ordered that the NEAB pay costs of 750 dollars to Caleb Orozco’s attorney and the Attorney General.

The Catholic church was an interested party in the original claim and now NEAB will have to rely on their appeal.
