By BBN Staff: Raul Rosado Sr., the CEO of the Corozal Free Zone for the last 8 years and also a high ranking UDP member and financier in the north has resigned from his post.

But what led to his sudden resignation? There are multiple reports including that he was caught with an unusual amount of money in southern Belize last week. However, we have not been able to confirm it.

This news also comes as a huge surprise since just last week he signed a $2.5 million contract for an infrastructure project at the zone.

It is also interesting to note that Rosado is related to former Deputy Prime Minister, Gaspar Vega.

BBN will continue to follow this story and provide updates.
