Miss Asia Gilharry represents Belize at the Miss Divali Nagar Queen Pageant in Trinidad and Tobago

By BBN Staff:The Corozal Organization of East Indian Cultural Heritage (COEICH) presents Miss Asia Gilharry, who was crowned Miss East Indian Belize 2016 – 2017 by outgoing Miss East Indian queen, Miss Namita Balani.

She will be representing Belize in the upcoming Miss Divali Nagar Queen Pageant hosted by the National Council of Indian Culture in Trinidad and Tobago on October 27, 2016. The daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Froylan Gilharry, she is a fourth form student at the Corozal Community College where she is majoring in Academic Sciences. Asia has been an active member of the COEICH organization and has participated in leading roles in traditional Indian dances during cultural festivals and pageants.

She is now a Belizean Beauty and Cultural Ambassador who believes in the retrieval of the East Indian culture before it is completely lost. Being an active member of the peer helpers, student council, and a dancer in the Corozal Community College marching band has given her the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to her community. She aspires to become a successful lawyer in order to defend the rights of people.
