Family of 7 charged for drug trafficking in Belize City

By BBN Staff: This morning at around 7:00 a.m., members of the South Side Strike Team and the K-9 unit were on operation during which they conducted a search at the Almendarez residence in Belize City.

Police found two black plastic bags containing cannabis amounting to 229.4 grams hidden between some shrubs behind the house.

Police have arrested and charged seven persons including a minor for the crime of drug trafficking.

Among those arrested are twenty-seven-year old Tasha Almendarez, 50-year-old Karen Almendarez, 32-year-old Trecia Benguche, 31-year-old Roberto Montejo, 24-year-old  Shaquawn Almendarez, 28-year-old  Darnell Almendarez, and a 16-year-old minor.
