By BBN Staff:Belize’s International Financial Services Commission (IFSC), today, sounded an alarm about a fraudulent online bitcoin investment scheme.
According to the IFSC, Xmaxbit, a website which claims to offer cryptocurrency investment and mining services, is not officially registered in Belize. The IFSC says that the site’s registration document is a complete forgery.
“This entity is not licensed/regulated by the IFSC or any other competent authority in Belize to conduct any type of trading business,” the commission said.
The agency said that website visitors should “take note and exercise extreme caution” in light of the alleged forgery.
Xmaxbit was also accused of fraud by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority earlier this month.
