By BBN Staff: A 39-year-old man, accused of a disgusting act of perversion, may only face 3 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 5-year-old baby girl.

According to police reports, in April of this year John Francisco Leslie allegedly took the child to his house where it is further alleged that he ejaculated in the child’s mouth.

In court yesterday, Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith called the infant to the stand after the court evaluated that she was fit to testify. She testified under oath behind a veil to conceal her identity.

Her mother also testified that the girl reported it to her after it had happened. She further told the court that the child was taken to the police station where a social worker was also present.

Leslie, who appeared unrepresented, told the court that on the day of the incident, he arrived home at around 3:00 p.m. and saw his children playing with the victim.

The convicted pedophile said that later that same day the child’s father came looking for her and that was when he was accused of having taken her into his home. The Chief Magistrate ruled that the child’s testimony was no different than the evidence provided to the police back in April.

Leslie has been convicted and his sentencing is scheduled for the end of the month. He is expected to serve only 3 years.
