Police find marijuana plantation in Corozal

By BBN Staff: Yesterday between 5:30 am and 7:30 am, police conducted a drug operation in an overgrown area about ½ mile Northwest of Dominguez Layout, Corozal Town where they found cannabis plants ranging from 8 inches to 6 feet in height scattered over an open area.

According to police reports, another search in the immediate area led to the discovery of an amount of cannabis which had been harvested and put to dry.

In the same vicinity, a white sack was found containing cannabis and 600 seedlings.

A total of about 600 mature plants were uprooted and destroyed by fire as well as the seedlings.

The cannabis in the white sack amounted to 6,464 grams and was deposited as “found property”.
