Corozal gets new quarantine facility

By BBN Staff: The Belize Agriculture and Health Authority (BAHA) and the Ministry of Agriculture are tightening up quarantine regulations in the northern border of Belize.

Yesterday, a new quarantine treatment facility was inaugurated in Santa Elena, Corozal.

The new facility will ensure that proper procedures are carried out for monitoring crops that are being exported from Belize to Mexico.

The Minister of Agriculture, Godwin Hulse stated at the innaguration  that over the years there have been problems with crops and therefore BAHA and his ministry see it crucial to ensure that crops remain disease free.

Hulse also said that the facility will ensure safety and health of our plants, animals, and furthermore for the people of Belize.
