Fair weather today; but rain on the way

It is a beautiful Tuesday morning in Cayo … and other parts of beautiful Belize. A sunny sky with some cloudy periods is in the forecast for today.

It will be another warm day, with the peak temperature this afternoon expected at 90 degrees Fahrenheit in the countryside. But while the weather will be warm today, change is on the way as some instability will roll in later.  The general forecast for Belize and her coastal waters is for sunny skies today.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy.  Winds over the open sea and along the coast will be northeasterly at five to fifteen knots, producing choppy sea conditions.

High temperatures this afternoon will be around eighty four degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; ninety degrees Fahrenheit inland and a comfortable seventy five degrees Fahrenheit up in the hills.

Low temperatures tonight will be around seventy two degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; sixty eight degrees Fahrenheit inland and a cool sixty four degrees Fahrenheit up at the exposed areas of the Mountain Pine Ridge and along the Maya Mountains in the south.

The tides:  there will be a high tide at twenty six minutes to five o’clock this evening. This will be followed by a low tide at twenty minutes past eleven o’clock tonight.

The sun will set at nineteen minutes past five o’clock this evening. It will rise again at twelve minutes past six o’clock tomorrow morning.

The extended forecast, valid through to Thursday is for skies to become cloudy, with some showers and isolated thunderstorms occurring over most areas, especially over the north and coastal areas of the country.  And that is a look at the weather, with information provided by forecaster Michael Gentle at the Belize Weather Bureau.
