An alleged rape reported in San Ignacio

An 18 year old woman from the Belize district was the victim of a rape on Boxing Day in San Ignacio town.

Information received say that the woman exited a local casino around 5:30 am on Boxing Day after clubbing and went to her vehicle to wait for her friends who remained inside partying.

The victim was reportedly followed by three men, who accosted her inside her vehicle.

Preliminary information suggests that two of the men held the woman down, while the third raped her inside the vehicle.

Three suspects have been detained for questioning in connection with this crime.
