An intense manhunt is now underway in the area of Bullet Tree Falls and Calla Creek villages in the Cayo district where police believe they have surrounded two men who attempted to kidnap two tourists this morning.
Information coming out of the area suggests that the bandits were able to cross the Mopan River after their hostages were freed.
The bandits are believed to be in the area of the Santa Rita road now and it is not certain if they are heading towards Call Creek village or back to Bullet Tree.
People living on both sides of the Mopan River in Bullet Tree Falls village have been notified that the bandits could be heading in their direction and to be on the lookout as these men are considered armed and dangerous
