Body found in La Gracia village, Cayo

Police in San Ignacio are investigating what appears to be a homicide in the village of La Gracia, Cayo.

On Sunday morning hunters came across the body of a man hidden under some cohune leaves in the village.

Reports are that the body, which was nude, showed signs of violence, including lacerations around the neck and chest areas.

The discovery was made around 8 am on Sunday and police visited the scene around 2 pm yesterday.

Investigations continue.
