An easterly to northeasterly airflow is now the dominating factor in our weather heading into the weekend.

The general forecast for Belize and her coastal waters is for cloudy skies at times today.  A few showers will affect the country today but will become isolated tonight.  Tonight, skies will be partly cloudy.

Winds over the open sea and along the coast will be easterly to northeasterly at 5 to 15 knots.  The sea state will be choppy.  High temperatures tonight will be 85 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 88 degrees Fahrenheit inland and a comfortable 75 degrees Fahrenheit up in the hills.

Low temperatures tonight will range from 68 degrees Fahrenheit along coastal areas to 64 degrees Fahrenheit inland.  It will be a chilly 60 degrees Fahrenheit up at the exposed areas of the Mountain Pine Ridge and along the Maya Mountains in the south.

The tides: there will be a low tide at 9:48 am.  This will be followed by a high tide at 3:47 pm.  The sun will set at 5:51pm today. It will rise again at 6:23 am on Saturday.

The extended forecast valid through to Saturday for generally fair weather with only isolated showers.  The forecast is for an increase in showers on Saturday night.

And that is a look at the weather, with information provided by forecaster Francisca Wellington at the Belize Weather Bureau.
