KIMBERLY LOCKE Reporting: Belizeans are paying more for butane gas, also known as liquid petroleum gas.
According to the Ministry of Trade and Consumer Protection, the new prices for a 100-pound cylinder of butane became effective on Saturday.
The prices are as follows: In Belize City, a 100 pound cylinder of the 60-40 mix of butane/propane is now selling for $129. It is two dollars cheaper for the 90-10 mix around the country.
In Belmopan and San Ignacio, the price is $130.
It is $131 in Benque Viejo del Carmen, $129 in Orange Walk, $128 in Corozal, $132 in Dangriga and $133 in Punta Gorda town.
