PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: Since December 7, 2013, forty four year old Thomas Ferguson Senior had been in the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital fighting for his life.

That fight ended on Saturday morning as Ferguson succumbed to a stab wound to the center of his chest.  That stab wound was inflicted, allegedly, by his own nephew identified as Oliver Peters, 36.

Peters and Ferguson reportedly got involved in an altercation at a house on Arlington Drive in Belize City during which Peters allegedly used a knife to stab his uncle.

Peters was formally arraigned in December on charges of attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm.

A police report today said that those charges will now be upgraded to murder.
