DEVON YOUNG Reporting: Preschool aged children were given free health screening today in Corozal town.
The event was held at the Andres Campos Civic Centre and was part of activities for Child Stimulation Month in Corozal.
The health screening was done by a group of nurses from the United States who has been coming to Belize since 1993.
Close to 350 Preschool aged children were given physical and mental checkups.
Activities for Child Stimulation Month in Corozal kicked off on Monday with a parade that had the participation of 37 Preschools from around the district.
On Thursday a parent/students workshop will be held where personnel of the National Drug Abuse Control Council will be discussing drugs and substances abuse prevention.
On Friday, the Corozal branch of the Belize National Fire Service will be putting on a display of the equipment used in fire fighting.
Child Stimulation Month is being celebrated under the theme: Early Childhood Education: where our future begins.
