Wednesday, April 2, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: A Belize City doctor was the victim of an armed robbery last night.

Dr. Jose Espat arrived at his home on Teachers’ Street around 9:30 pm and was accosted by two masked men.

Dr. Espat says that one of his attackers carried a handgun and the other hit him on the head with a piece of cement block, leaving him bleeding from a gash to the left side of his forehead.

The robbers reportedly ripped Dr. Epat’s expensive gold chain from around his nect and made good their escape through the UB compound.

Police investigations continue.
