Thursday, May 29, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: A mid-afternoon traffic accident today on the George Price Highway has claimed the life of one man.

The victim has been identified as Frank Robinson, an employee of the Customs Department.

The accident happened around 3 pm near mile 2 on the George Price Highway in Belize City.

According to reports, Robinson and a female employee of the Customs Department were west-bound in a DMax pickup truck when the incident happened.

Reports are that the pickup truck made a U-turn into the path of a dump truck that was following.

The impact crushed the driver’s side of the pickup truck and Robinson in the process.

He was later extracted from vehicle and did not survive the crash.

The female passenger was seriously injured and taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for medical attention.

She is now listed in stable condition.

Police investigations continue.
