Belize to take over rotating presidency of SICA

Monday, June 23, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: The Honourable the Prime Minister, Mr. Dean Barrow has travelled to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to attend a meeting of the Central American Integration System, SICA.

According to a brief statement from the PM’s office, during his trip to the Dominican Republic, Mr. Barrow will accept the SICA presidency for Belize for the rest of 2014.

During Mr. Barrow’s attendance of the SICA Summit, the Honourable the Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Gaspar Vega will hold over the reigns of government in Belmopan.

Prime Minister Barrow is due to return to Belize on Monday, June 30.
