False statement to police lands youth in trouble

Monday, June 23, 2014. AARON HUMES Reporting: 18 year old Troy Augustus, an unemployed of West Street in Belize City, has admitted that he lied to authorities about a statement he gave them about a week or so ago.

Augustus told police that around 6:20 a.m. on June 8 he was in a blue car that was allegedly shot at.

Police’s investigations reveal however that the vehicle was in fact under police impound at the time the incident is alleged to have occurred.

Augustus pleaded guilty to committing a mischievous act before Magistrate Hettie Mae Stuart and will be sentenced on Tuesday
