Tuesday, July 1, 2014. AARON HUMES Reporting: Today’s appearance at the Art Training Program opening in Belize City is among the last for Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Belize, His Excellency David C.K. Wu.
He leaves Belize in two weeks’ time for a post in New Zealand, but says he will take away fond memories of his four years in the Jewel with him.
According to Wu, he was always fondly greeted on the street and everywhere else he went in Belize with warm smiles and words of greeting, often from people he didn’t even know.
That, he says, is unique and special to Belize, and something he will always remember.
While he leaves these shores soon, he will continue to stay in touch with Belize from the other side of the world.
Wu will be succeeded by Benjamin Ho.
He has been a career diplomat, serving his country for more than three decades.
