Man dies in hit and run incident in Toledo

Monday, July 7, 2014. JUAN CAAL Reporting: Police in Toledo are looking for the driver of a vehicle that knocked down and killed a man on the Southern Highway last night.

25 year old Francisco Coy died on the spot when he was knocked off his bicycle around 9 o’clock last night near the junction of Machaca road and the Southern Highway.

According to reports, Coy and another man, identified only as Hector, were double-riding a bicycle and returning from socializing in Jacintoville when they were knocked down.

The vehicle did not stop and when residents of the area who heard the impact looked out, all they saw was the mashed up bicycle on the road and the two injured men nearby.

As we noted earlier Francisco Coy died on the scene, while Hector was taken to the Punta Gorda hospital for medical attention.

Police investigations continue.
