Wednesday, July 9, 2014. JUAN CAAL Reporting: A small funeral procession carried the earthly remains of Yemeri Grove village resident Francisco Coy to his final resting place at the Jacintoville village cemetery this afternoon.
Coy was killed on Sunday night when he was knocked down by a hit-and-run driver who has still not been apprehended by the police.
His fellow footballers from the Laguna Football Club were pallbearers today, carrying the casket containing the body of their fallen colleague and friend to the cemetery.
The heartless driver of the vehicle that hit Coy as he rode his bicycle on the Southern Highway near the Machaca junction has left his family and friends with unspeakable sadness at his demise.
The family is calling for justice for their loved one and pleading with the authorities to find the perpetrator of the killing.
Deputy Officer Commanding Punta Gorda police Inspector Ernel Dominguez says investigators are working hard to try and find the person who was driving the car that knocked down Coy; but so far, the police have not had much luck.
