Saturday, July 12, 2014. AARON HUMES Reporting: Police are expected to bring charges against a woman who tried to ensnare two well-known Belize City professionals in a scam.

Lee Mark Chang, the former political candidate and manager of Chon Saan Palace Restaurants, was contacted on Wednesday via text message from someone claiming to be Dr. Victor Rosado, a doctor at Belize Medical Associates on St. Thomas Street.

The person asked for a $200 donation for a marching band, the Holy Redeemer School Band. Chang contacted Rosado personally and he confirmed that the communication was not from him.

Chang invited the woman to meet him at Chon Saan later in the day and as the exchange took place, Police swooped in and arrested the alleged scammer.

Dr. Rosado told Channel 7 News that this has happened twice before but he ignored it.

This time, he has made a formal complaint to police and issued a notice in the weekend newspapers advising the public that he was not associated with any fundraising efforts for the band.
