Stabbing in the prison yard leaves inmate wounded

Thursday, July 17, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: An inmate of the Belize Central Prison in Hattieville village was the victim of a stabbing incident.

23 year old Jamal Ariola was stabbed multiple times on Wednesday morning while he was in the prison yard.

Police say Ariola was stabbed to the chest, hand, back and left foot with what has been described as a steel “bora.”

Police say Ariola’s injuries have been classified as wounding.

The man suspected of the stabbing, a twenty year old inmate, remains at the Belize Central Prison pending charges.
