Thursday, July 17, 2014. AARON HUMES Reporting: The Republic of China (Taiwan’s) new ambassador to Belize landed at the Philip Goldson International Airport this morning.
His Excellency Benjamin Ho says it is a sort of homecoming for him, having been in Belize more than two decades last.
The former First Secretary and long-time diplomat says he can’t wait to get to work and build on initiatives in the arts, education, sports, economic development, energy and others.
Ambassador Ho says the almost immediate nature of his appointment on the departure of David Wu a week ago confirms Taiwan’s healthy relationship with Belize.
Among the first item on Ho’s agenda is a meeting with the local Taiwanese community, whom he encouraged to become more involved in Belizean development.
Ambassador Ho was hosted by the Belize-Taiwan Chamber of Commerce at Embassy headquarters on North Park Street.
