Wednesday, July 23, 2014. AARON HUMES Reporting: A 72 year old woman and 7 other persons were charged with drug trafficking for 6.5 grams of crack cocaine when they appeared on Tuesday before Magistrate Herbert Panton.
They are 72 year old Marion Plunkett, 25 year old Michael Plunkett, 24 year old Kathlee Reyes, 34 year old Carlos Mckenzie, 28 year old Kareem Williams, 19 year old Tamika Faber, 44 year old Raymond Alvarez and 22 year old Sheffield Fitzgibbon.
They pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Marion Plunkett was released on a bail of $500 on her own recognizance while the others were offered a bail of $1,500 each.
Their next court date is September 26.
On Tuesday morning, members of the Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) went to a residence at Supal Street and reported that they found the crack in the yard.
However, residents who witnessed the search said the police would not say exactly where it was found, suggesting that it had been planted.
Further, they add, Ms. Plunkett hardly tolerates users of hard drugs such as crack, cocaine and marijuana in her yard.
She is a diabetic and the head of the GSU, Senior Superintendent Linden Flowers, reportedly had to personally ensure she got her medicine when she stayed overnight at the Queen Street Police Station.
