Thursday, July 31, 2014. GWEN NUNEZ GONZALEZ Reporting: Toucan Educational Program partners with Students of University of Indianapolis under the leadership of Therapist Wendy Koster.
According to Mr.MarioTeul, Project Coordinator, his organization partners with Universities in Canada and United States to provide various services in Belize.
This team of 6 therapists provided Occupational and Physical therapy to students living with various disabilities on Wednesday (July 30) and Thursday (July 31st) at El Shaddai Primary School in Belmopan.
The team also held training sessions with teachers, parents, and caregivers to give them tips to help their loved ones.
The workshop/training was coordinated by Mrs. Patricia Dixon Sebastian, Special Education Officer for the Belmopan Area.
Another team was assisting Seniors at Hazel Hutchinson Home with sessions on “Fall Prevention and Diabetes Management”.
The team will head to Hopkins Village and provide Diabetes Management Session to residence at Holy Family, R.C. School from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday August 4th.
Their services will be offered toHelpage Belize City, Home bound individuals and the Inspiration Centre on Tuesday August 5th.
