Thursday, August 7, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: Warm and relatively dry conditions are prevailing factors in our weather heading into the weekend.
The general forecast for Belize and her coastal waters is for partly cloudy skies tonight. Friday will be sunny with only isolated showers or thunderstorms expected. Winds over the open sea and along the coast will be easterly at five to fifteen knots.
The sea state will be light chop to choppy.
Overnight low temperatures will range from seventy nine degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to seventy three degrees Fahrenheit inland. It will be a cool 68 degrees Fahrenheit up in the hills.
High temperatures on Friday will be around eighty nine degrees Fahrenheit along coastal areas; ninety four degrees Fahrenheit inland and a warm eighty two degrees Fahrenheit up at the exposed areas of the Mountain Pine Ridge and along the Maya Mountains in the south.
The tides: there will be a low tide at seven minutes to one o’clock on Friday morning. This will be followed by a high tide at twenty four minutes past seven o’clock, also in the morning.
The sun will rise at five thirty four tomorrow morning. It will set at six twenty three tomorrow evening.
The extended forecast valid through to Saturday afternoon is for generally fair weather with only isolated showers or thunderstorms expected.
