Saturday, August 30, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: Former three time area representative for the People’s United Party (PUP) in Lake Independence Cordel Hyde is officially back in the race for national office.
An endorsement convention was held this afternoon at the St. Martin de Porres football field.
A huge crowd of PUP supporters from Lake Independence as well as other parts of the country converged on the convention site today to witness endorsement.
Speakers at the convention included PUP leader Francis Fonseca, as well standard bearers Daniel Silva, Florencio Marin, Jr., Ramon Cervantes, Jr., and Dolores Balderamons Garcia.
Hyde who first entered electoral politics in 1996 has served in Cabinet in the last Musa administration.
He will go up against incumbent area representative, the UDP’s Mark King in the next General Elections.
