Tuesday, September 2, 2104. JUAN CAAL Reporting: Forty eight hours after the nude body of Agripina Coc was found, hundreds of residents of San Pedro Columbia village, Toledo held a candlelight vigil in her honor.
The vigil started at the spot at the southern entrance to the village where Coc’s body was found and proceeded to the village’s football field.
The Saturday afternoon murder shocked not only the quiet rural community, but Belizeans everywhere for the sheer cruelty of the attack.
One of the organizers of this candlelight vigil Karla Garcia, explained that the objective of the event was to show solidarity with the Coc family through prayers and comforting words.
The hour-long vigil included prayers for the family of Agripina Coc, described as a peaceful, Christian woman.
