Businessman found guilty of reckless driving

Tuesday, September 2, 2104. AARON HUMES Reporting: 56 year old manager of Victor L. Bryant and Company Limited, Philip Gallaty, was today found guilty of driving without due care and attention.

His penalty is a $100 fine to be paid by tomorrow, Wednesday and he has been disqualified from driving in Belize for six months.

On Saturday, March 22, while at Friendship Restaurant at Mile 2 1/2 on the Philip Goldson Highway, Gallaty reversed his white Toyota Hylux pick-up truck into a parked vehicle belonging to Magistrate Stephanie Gillett.

Gillett’s vehicle suffered minor damages.

Gallaty in testimony admitted to being in the parking lot but says he does not remember hitting any other vehicle.

He was represented by attorney Stevannie Duncan.
