Policeman charged for gun assault on citizen

Friday, September 5, 2014. AARON HUMES Reporting: At the conclusion of an investigation spanning several months, police moved quickly to arrest one of their own.

On Thursday Constable Linsdale Blease, 32, attached to Eastern Division’s Domestic Violence Unit, was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm in public.

Blease is accused of pointing a firearm in the face of one Cordell Duran in an area between miles 25 and 26 on the George Price Highway on February 3, 2014.

He is further alleged to have threatened Duran and then fired a shot in his direction.

Blease appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann-Marie Smith with attorney B.Q. Pitts, Sr., and was remanded until October 23 due to the nature of the offence.
