Sunday, September 7, 2014. GWEN NUNEZ GONZALEZ Reporting: Residents of the Garden City of Belmopan gathered at the Independence Plaza on Friday night, September 5, to witness the launching of the program of activities leading to our Independence Day, September 21.

Mayor Simeon Lopez invited everyone to join in the celebration and make it memorable.

He also highlighted the activities for the celebration period.

The next activity will be Belmopan Battle of the Beats at 1 p.m. at the Governor General Field.

Entertainment was done by Jason Wade and his dancers, Shanika Myers, Police Drama Group, Elijah Noralez, Students from Garden City Primary School under the guidance of Mrs. Beverly Requena, BAY Dancers, and Queen of the Bay Belmopan Designate- Ms. Jasmine Rhamdas.

We celebrate with the theme “Industrious hand, Intelligent Minds, Together for Belize.”
